8 Ideas to Add Pizzazz to Your Website
By Tina L. Miller

Tina L. MillerThe World Wide Web is where it’s at. Everyone who’s anyone is putting up a website. Businesses everywhere are using the Internet to compete in the global marketplace at an incredibly rapid pace. Amidst millions of other websites, how can you make yours stand out in the crowd?

Try these eight ideas to add pizzazz to your website and stand out from your competition.
  • Be bold. Dare to be different. Don’t do what everyone else is doing. Stand out.
  • Keep it simple. Less is more.
  • Use color, but use it wisely.
  • Don’t overdo the graphics.
  • Make it simple to navigate and easy to move around in. Make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
  • Answer your reader’s questions. Anticipate what they need and want to know. Make the information easy for your reader to find.
  • Write to your ONE ideal reader.
  • Skip the blinking lights, flashing graphics, marquees, animation, and sound files. They take too much time to load, they’re hard on the eyes and ears, and most users find them annoying.
  • Your website reflects your business image. It’s your first impression to a potential client or customer. Just like any other first impression, it tends to stick, and there’s no undoing it after the fact. So make sure the first impression your site portrays is the impression you want your clients and customers to have of you and your business.
